It is estimated that 1% of the adult population will develop a leg ulcer in their life-time. Unfortunately, in many cases patients are not properly managed wasting time and money.
To help a leg ulcer heal, special interest in this non-homogeneous group of conditions is required. It is essential that the vascular surgeon involved have the expertise to diagnose the cause of the problem, to possibly correct the underlying pathology and to select the appropriate method and frequency of wound care as well as the most suitable products which may be indicated for local application.
With the methods we use to treat leg ulcers, we have achieved high rates of ulcer healing as well as ulcer recurrence prevention.
